1. What this policy is
This policy states what happens to money paid to Beetrothed — our own subscriptions — when something changes or ends. Article 11 is the whole of that, and it is the operative heart of this document.
Payments between couples and their vendors or planners do not pass through Beetrothed and are not governed by this policy. A couple pays a provider directly, under the provider's own published cancellation policy — shown before acceptance and snapshotted at acceptance — and a refund under it is settled the way the payment was made: directly, between the two of them. Beetrothed holds the record and moves no money.
Version 1.0 of this policy governed an on-platform payment rail that was retired on 2026-09-04, before it ever carried a live payment. No booking was ever paid through it, so no booking is governed by version 1.0's Articles 3–10. Those Articles are marked "Reserved" below, with their numbers kept, so the version rule in Article 14 and every cross-reference stay readable.

Articles 3 through 10 of version 1.0 were the machinery of the retired rail: the fee rule, the published-policy requirement as a payment term, initiator attribution, the free window, the per-case return table, the standing authorization, the no-fault bright line, and the rail's disclosed limits. No payment was ever made through the rail, so no booking is governed by them.
Two things they described survive as Service features, not payment terms: every priced offering still carries the provider's published cancellation policy, rendered before acceptance and snapshotted at it (the record a couple and provider settle against, directly); and the performance check-in — a recorded confirm-you-will-perform request whose fourteen-day silence is a recorded fact — remains available on any booking.
11. Our own subscriptions
Beetrothed is the merchant of record for its own subscriptions, which is a different posture from everything above.
- Cancel at any time. The honest answer to any dispute is that you were charged for access you had and you can stop today.
- A failed payment gets a grace period before access changes, and nothing is ever deleted — access decays, it does not destroy.
- Near-date amnesty. For an account in good standing, a payment failure or the expiry of a paid term inside the thirty (30) days before the wedding suspends collection, not access. It applies to a planner's lapse landing on a couple's plan as well as to the couple's own.
- Unused annual term. Where a couple's annual term is running and the wedding it was for has already happened, we refund the unused whole months, pro rata.
12. Insurance
Cancellation and postponement insurance for weddings exists and is inexpensive relative to a wedding — typically from around $130. It can cover things this policy explicitly does not: vendor bankruptcy, personal illness, and injury. It does not cover a change of heart.

Version 1.0 drafted terms for a gift-contribution feature that would have settled on the rail. The feature never launched and is retired with the rail; if it ships later it arrives with its own terms and a fresh version of this policy.
14. Versions and changes
This policy is versioned, and the version in force when a booking was accepted is the version that governs that booking for its whole life.
Changing the policy never changes a booking already accepted. We publish the current version here with its effective date, and keep prior versions available.
