Cord, veil & candles: a wedding guide

Filipino couples may have three rites after the vows. Friends light the candles and drape a veil and a cord on them.

When couples book this

Usually booked about two months out; a set made to order takes its production time. It moves with your date.

  • Which rites are you including?

The veil goes over the bride's head and the groom's shoulders — the two clothed as one; the cord over both in a figure eight — a bond without end.

  • The sponsor pairs

Candle, veil, and cord sponsors — one secondary-sponsor pair per rite, each by full name for the officiant's script. Often relatives or close friends, of the couple's generation or their parents'; invitations name them by their part — to light our path, to clothe us as one, to bind us together.
